Governors Week Pause Due to Weather

After a great start to the Atlantic Sires Stake Races in Summerside the card for 3 year old fillies has been postponed until Sunday July 11, 2021 at 6:30.

Tuesday July 6, 2021 saw the 2 and 3 year old trotters hit the track.  2 year old trotter Moonshine Monday (Myles Heffernan) over came starting in the second tier and won the lone division of 2 year old trotters in 208.2  Mr Miller (Corey MacPherson) and Up Helly Aa (Ken MacDonald) rounded out the top three.  The trotters raced for a purse of $19,620.

The two $10,220 Atlantic Sires Stakes three-year-old trot divisions were won by Dusty Lane Milo (Jason Hughes) 2:04 and Mr Finlay (Clare MacDonald) 2:03.4

 

Wednesday evening the 2 year old fillies were on display for their Atlantic Sires Stakes seasonal debut Boo Yaya won her $16,020 Atlantic Sires Stakes A-division for trainer Robert MacLeod. Boo Yaya (Marc Campbell) is a daughter of Stonebridge Terror and paced in 1:58.4. Hugh and Ali MacEachern of Nova Scotia are the owners.  West River Glo (Driven by Clare MacDonald) finished second and Cougar On A Terr (Don Gillis Jr.) third.

The other $16,020 A Division was won by Woodmere Jazz (Gilles Barrieau) in 1:59.2 over Kinda Like Royalty (Walter Cheverie) and JJ Scarlett (Gillis).

 

Two year old pacing colts on Thursday evening were rolling along. Fern Hill General made his debut start a winning one.  Nova Scotia bred Fern Hill General (Brodie MacPhee) claimed the first A division of $16,420 Atlantic Sires Stakes over Fern Hill Gusto (Marc Campbell) and Woodmere Bankroll (Mike McGuigan).

The other $16,420 A-division saw St Charlesfireball (Marc Campbell) won in 1:58.2  Second went to Check Your Source ( Mike McGuigan) with Brumby (David Dowling) rounding out the top three.

Three year old colts hit the track Saturday July 11, 2021 at 6:30pm.
