Stakes Filled Weekend In Store for Cape Breton

It will be a stakes filled weekend for Cape Breton, as both the two and three-year-old Atlantic Sires Stakes pacing colts will meet for racing action on the island.

Northside Downs will play host to the three-year-old pacing colts on Saturday afternoon when two ‘A’ divisions each go for a purse pool of $10,020. This will be the final meeting of the three-year-old pacing colts before the season ending Atlantic Breeders Crown Championships. First race post time in North Sydney is 1 pm.

On Sunday the racing action will return to Inverness when the freshmen pacing colts roll into town.  The Inverness oval will host two ‘A’ divisions, each going for $9620.  First race post time on Sunday is 1:30 pm.

Points earned in each Atlantic Sires Stakes pacing event and all trotting events go towards securing a spot in the season-ending Atlantic Breeders Crown Championships.  This year’s Weekend of Champions will be hosted by Red Shores at the Charlottetown Driving Park on Thanksgiving weekend.
