Royaltywestho Looks To Continue Divisional Reign At Red Shores

By Nicholas Oakes For Red Shores

SUMMERSIDE, PE – Royaltywestho has been undefeated so far in her 2018 campaign and the three-year-old daughter of Westwardho Hanover will seek to extend that trend Friday evening in Atlantic Sires Stakes action as part of Governor’s Plate Week racing at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway.

The 12-dash program starts the action at 6:30 P.M. on Friday evening featuring the Atlantic Sires Stakes for three-year-old pacing fillies. The division has a pair of $13,040 A-divisions in races 8 and 10. The first split in race 8 has R Es Shabla riding a two-race win streak into the event but shouldered with post 8 for driver Mike McGuigan, trainer Len McGuigan and owner Lloyd Parsons of Carmanville, N.L. The daughter of Pang Shui has annihilated her competition in recent events winning in 1:56.3 in Atlantic Sires Stakes action at Inverness Raceway in Nova Scotia by five lengths and in 1:56.1 over the Truro Raceway in Nova Scotia by seven lengths in the MacKenzie stake. Other top entries include Chocolate Terro (Driven by Darren Crowe) and Maybeitsmaybelline (Adam Merner).

Royaltywestho will have the target firmly on her back in the second division in race 10 as the one to beat. Walter Cheverie is back in the bike for trainer Joe Baxter, who co-owns the filly with Gregory Francis of Windsor, N.S. The Sophomore champion has won all five of her outings in 2018 including the $22,100 Maritime Breeder’s final earlier this season at Red Shores Charlottetown. Also in her Friday evening field is Elm Grove Misty (Earl Smith) and Woodmere Wyldstyle (Corey MacPherson).

The program also features a trio of $2,500 B-divisions for three-year-old pacing fillies in races 2, 4 and 6. For more information go to www.Redshores.ca.
