Two-year-old filly pacers set to shine; Windfall Blue Chip makes season debut

Summerside, PE – Governor’s Plate week is in full force at Red Shores Summerside and Wednesday night it will play host to three Atlantic Sire Stake A divisions for two-year-old filly pacers.
A total of 18 fillies will line up behind the Sherry’s Heating Service starting gate with three divisions going for a purse of $9, 660, post time is 7 pm.
The first A division will go in Race 6 with mainland invader Three Pink Bows as the morning-line choice. The filly ships in from Antigonish for owners Tanya Tremblett and Stevi Jardine, she comes in having won her first pari-mutual race over Northside Downs in an impressive 2:01, Clare MacDonald is now the trainer and driver. Dustly Lane Bria draws the rail for Kenny Arsenault, the ownership duo of Boyd Macdonald and Dan Ross own Swift Taylor who leaves from post 3 for Mike Stevenson. Miss Pamela May ( Marc Campbell ), Woodmere Costalot ( Bernard McCallum ) and Centurion Sue ( Keith Ford )
complete the field.
Mike Stevenson will look to come one step closer to 1,500 career driving victories in the second A division, when he sits behind 5-2 favourite Pictonian Stardust. The Western Paradise – Pictonian Sapphire filly is owned by Ross of Belfast, Stevenson also does the training. I Can Do Anything gets the
rail for Ford, the daughter of fan-favourite mare Crossridge Income comes in with a supporting qualifying effort, finishing second in 204.1. Ford trains and co-owns the filly with Gordon Neil of Charlottetown. Elm Grove Joanette (3-1) , Woodmere Articblue (6-1), Ubettowin (4-1 ) and Casa Miasa (8-1) complete the field.
Gilles Barrieau will make the trek to Summerside for four drives on Wednesday night, including Jann Down in the final Division of the Atlantic Sire Stakes for two-year-old fillies. Jann Down comes in off a second place finish pacing her own mile in 2:03.1 in a qualifier over Exhibition Park Raceway. She is owned by the Downey Stables of Quispamsis and trained by Stephen Mason, she will leave from post 5. To her outside is the morning line choice Wynnfrith, she is owned by the Buntainwood Farms of Brackley Beach and trained by Nick Oakes. Jason Hughes will pick up the driving duties on the Americpan Gigolo – Dress to Thrill filly. Party Rockin ( Danny Romo) has drawn the rail, Woodmere Danceart ( MacDonald ) are two, with Skip To Win ( Campbell ) and Lyndale Jenn ( Brodie MacPhee ) closing out the field.
Two B divisions will also be held on the card, in races two and four.
Windfall Blue Chip will make his return to the track on Wednesday night in the 11th race feature. After spending the spring in the stud ranks on Prince Edward Island, the seven-year-old winner of $533, 794 in career earnings draws post 5 for owners Jamie MacKinley and Jody Sanderson. Earl Watts has been off to a stellar start this season, he does the training, while Arsenault will pick up the catch driving call. The stealer lineup includes Mcmaverick ( Ken Murphy ), P C Shockwave ( Brian MacPhee ), Lisfinny ( Norris Rogers ), Van Zant ( Ronnie Matheson ) and Eagle Jolt ( Campbell).
The evenings trot race goes in the fifth when Osprey Impact looks to continue her winning ways on the
island.
The three-year-old daughter of Ferderal Flex – Summerhill Hallie was a winner in her first start on P.E.I. in 2:02.1 for owner-trainer Paul Larrabee, this week he calls on Stevenson to handle the driving duties. Howmacs Pride will reunite with Campbell from post two after finishing second her last
start out in 2:02.
