Atlantic Sires Stakes two-year-old pacing colts dominated the race card at Truro Raceway on Thursday evening as Atlantic Grand Circuit Week continues.
Tobins Fusion captured first of four ‘A’ division events with Gillies Barrieau in the bike. The duo crossed the finish line in 2:01.2 for owners Boyd MacDonald Produce, Crapaud, PE, Daniel Ross, Belfast, PE and Charles Seymour, Fredericton, NB.
The second ‘A’ division event went to Dumas Walker and driver Myles Heffernan Sr. in a time
of 1:59.3 for owners Joseph Poirier of Reserve Mines, NS and Myles Heffernan of Glace Bay, NS.
Just A Professor crossed the finish line first in his division under the command of driver Jack Panting. The two-year-old colt is owned by Creston Gillis of Belle River, PE and Michael and John Clarey of Montague, PE.
In the final ‘A’ division event Rebelseven and Marc Campbell took first place honours and the
winner’s share of the $5860 purse for owner Kevin MacLean of Vernon Bridge, PE.
Atlantic Sires Stakes racing action will heat up again on Saturday at Truro Raceway when the three-year-old pacing colts meet for competition. First race post time on Saturday is 7 pm.
