Atlantic Sires Stakes Fillies Set New Lifetime Marks at Inverness Raceway
Two Atlantic Sires Stakes pacing fillies took new lifetime marks during the Wednesday evening card of harness racing at Inverness Raceway.
Western Judy with Marc Campbell in the bike captured an ‘A’ division event setting a new lifetime mark of 2:01.4. The two-year-old brown pacing filly is owned by Blair Hansen of Charlottetown, PE. Coming home second was Largomotion and driver Mike Stevenson and third was Saulsbrook Maggie and driver George Rennison.
Meanwhile the two-year-old filly Carol Alice and driver Clare MacDonald easily won another ‘A’ division event, setting a new lifetime mark of 2:01 for owner Doug Sonny Rankin of Sydney, NS. Second place honours went to Whistys Paradise and driver Danny Romo and third place went to Lady Antebella and driver Jason Hughes.
The third ‘A’ division event went to Top Brand and driver Danny Romo in 2:03 for owners Tom and Melissa Hawco of Sydney, NS. West River Xtra and driver Clare MacDonald were a close second and the third place finisher was Skip The Exam and driver Marc Campbell.
Atlantic Sires Stakes racing action continues Saturday and all next week, when Red Shores Charlottetown Driving Park hosts a full slate of Atlantic Sires Stakes events.
