Junebugs Baby with driver Greg Sparling holding the lines captured the first of two Atlantic Sires Stakes “A” division events at Inverness Raceway on Sunday afternoon. The three-year-old pacing colt crossed the finish line in 2:00.3 for owners Fraser Turnbull of Dominion, NS and John Turnbull Jr. of Glace Bay, NS. Coming home second was Mr Thompson and driver Mike Stevenson and third was Paradise Station and Redmond Doucet
The second “A” division event on the afternoon race card went to Putnams Storm and driver Todd Trites in a time of 2:01.3 for owner Wesley Patriquin of Debert, NS. Second place honors went to Touch of Lightning and driver Earl Smith and third place went to Astronomical Union and Redmond Doucet.
The lone “B” division event went to Hoshinosenshi and driver Danny Romo for owner Tom Hawco of Sydney, NS.
