It’s shaping up to be another busy week of Atlantic Sires Stakes harness racing action across the Maritimes as both the trotters and pacers meet for competition this week.
Woodstock, NB, will be invaded by the two and three-year-old trotters Wednesday evening, as two divisions of each age group attempt to earn both the winners share of the purse pool and points to gain entry into the Atlantic Breeders Crown Invitational. Post time at the Woodstock Driving Club is 7 pm.
Northside Downs will then play host to the two-year-old pacing fillies on Thursday evening in North Sydney, NS. Two “A” divisions will each go for a substantial purse pool of $8860 and two “B” divisions will each go for $2500. Post time on Thursday is 5 pm.
Meanwhile, on the weekend the two-year-old pacing colts will test out the North Sydney oval on Saturday afternoon and the 3-year-old pacing fillies will head to Inverness Raceway on Sunday afternoon.
Points earned in each Atlantic Sires Stakes “A” division event and all trotting events go towards earning a coveted spot in the season-ending Atlantic Breeders Crown Championships. This year Red Shores at the Charlottetown Driving Park will host the prestigious event on October 8th and 9th.
